Terms

The agreement between you and FANO when you place an order.

Who we are

FANO is the trading name of an independent operator based in California, USA. In these terms, “we”, “us”, and “FANO” mean the same thing. “You” means the person placing an order.

What we sell

A personalised, printed matching-card game. You give us a theme and a dedication; we draw 57 memories, render them as cards, and ship a printed deck to your address. Two tiers, two price points; details at How it works.

Placing an order

You can move through the funnel and generate a preview deck without committing. When you click “Approve and continue” on the review page, then pay or apply a comp code on the final confirm page, that's the binding order. We charge your card and start production at that moment.

Until you confirm, you can leave at any time. Nothing is charged, nothing is printed.

Payment

We use Stripe for all card payments. By placing an order you authorise us (via Stripe) to charge the full order amount to the card you provide. Prices are in US dollars and include applicable sales tax for California addresses. Shipping is included in the listed price.

If your card is declined or your bank reverses a charge, your order is paused; we'll email you. If we can't resolve it within seven days, the order is cancelled.

Production and shipping

FANO decks are made to order. Expect a lead time of about two weeks from confirmed payment to delivery. Specific timing depends on the print queue and your shipping location; we'll email tracking once the deck is on its way.

We ship to the address you supply at confirmation. If you need to change it, email hello@getfano.com within 24 hours of confirming. After that, the deck may have already gone to print and changes aren't always possible.

Refunds and replacements

Full refund if you change your mind before clicking “Confirm”. After that, the deck is en route to print and we don't refund except for defects. Full policy at the refund page.

What you can and can't ask us to print

The theme and dedication you submit run through automated content safety checks. We will not print anything that:

  • Targets, mocks, or harasses an individual or group.
  • Promotes hate, violence, or illegal activity.
  • Reproduces protected trademarks, copyrighted artwork, or celebrity likenesses without authorisation.

If a theme is rejected automatically, we'll email you and refund any payment in full. If we discover a problem after generation but before printing, we'll contact you to revise or refund.

Intellectual property

Your theme is yours. The theme and dedication you submit remain your intellectual property. We use them only to fulfil your order; we don't reproduce your dedication text or your recipient's name anywhere outside the deck.

Your deck is unique to you. The 57 memory images are generated freshly for each order — we don't recycle imagery between decks. You buy the physical printed deck and the configuration of imagery that came out of your specific generation.

The FANO brand — the name, logo, and visual identity — is ours. Don't reproduce it commercially.

Service availability

We aim for the site to be available, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may pause new orders without notice for maintenance, abuse mitigation, or if external dependencies (Stripe, our print partner, AI providers) are degraded.

Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by California law, our total liability to you for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses (missed birthdays, hurt feelings, the time spent wrapping a backup gift).

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything else that can't be excluded under applicable consumer protection law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Any disputes go to the courts of California unless local consumer protection law gives you a stronger right to bring a claim where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you confirmed it. Material changes get a notification email to anyone with an active order.
